Electronics

Custom cases, crates and foam for electronic equipment.

We supply electronic equipment cases, custom foam inserts and wood crates for manufacturers and teams using cameras, sensors, controllers and test equipment. We design the packaging around your equipment, accessories and the way they will be shipped, stored and used in the field.

Sensitive electronics

Support the equipment and leave sensitive areas clear.

A close-fitting pocket needs to hold the device at suitable contact points. We plan support, clearance and access around the equipment and the people who will pack and unpack it.

  • Keep pressure off connectors and controls

We shape the foam around suitable support areas and leave clearance for connector pins, optics, displays and controls. Tell us which surfaces can take contact and which must remain clear.

  • Choose the foam and check anti-static requirements

We offer polyethylene (PE), polyurethane (PU) and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) in different densities and colors. All foam is cut using a CNC router or waterjet. The method is selected based on the foam type and pocket features. Anti-static foam options are available to meet any electrostatic discharge requirements.

  • Make equipment and accessories easy to remove

Finger openings provide room to lift items out. Separate pockets for cables, batteries and tools help keep the kit organized. We can add labels and plan the layout around the order in which items are used.

Larger equipment

Plan how larger systems will be packed and handled.

Large instruments and equipment assemblies may need shaped supports, bracing or a removable crate wall. The design starts with the loaded weight, support points and available lifting equipment.

  • Provide support and loading access

Blocking, cradles and restraints can hold the load without pressing on thin panels or protruding parts. Removable walls, ramps and forklift access can be included where useful. Tell us how the equipment will be loaded and unpacked at its destination.

  • Account for moisture during shipping and storage

Waterproof barrier bagging and desiccant, which absorbs moisture, can be included for sensitive shipments. We choose the approach for the journey and expected storage period. A wood crate alone is not a sealed moisture barrier.

  • Arrange crating at your facility

On-site crating can be useful when equipment is difficult to move. We review the location, working space, access and packing work before arranging a visit.

Design and ordering

Review the design before we build.

Design assistance and quotes are free, with no requirement to purchase. Our in-house team prepares the packaging layout and works through changes with you.

  1. Provide the equipment details

Start with dimensions, drawings, 3D models or photos, plus the equipment and accessory list, weight, quantity and required date. Tell us how the equipment is used and whether it is still changing.

  2. Review the layout and quote

We recommend the case, foam or crate design and provide views for your review. Check support areas, access, materials and what is included in the quote. We help determine whether a physical prototype is needed.

  3. Approve the design for production

After any required prototype review and your approval, we build the packaging and arrange delivery. We retain the approved design and production files for repeat orders.

Frequently asked questions

Electronic equipment packaging questions

Practical details for design, repeat orders and delivery.

Yes. We can start from drawings or a CAD model and determine what checks are needed. In a controller case project, we used the customer's CAD file to 3D-print a model part in-house for a prototype fit check. The checks for your equipment depend on its shape and requirements.
