Nuclear industry

Custom cases, crates and foam for nuclear industry equipment.

We design packaging for instruments, sensors, machinery and precision components used by nuclear-industry companies. Cases, custom foam and crates support equipment during shipping, storage and repeated movement between facilities. We do not package radioactive material.

Instruments and precision components

Support the equipment without pressing on delicate parts.

An instrument may have surfaces that can carry weight and others that need to remain clear. We design the foam around those differences and how the equipment will be packed and handled.

  • Leave sensitive features clear

We leave relief around fittings, bolt heads, probes and other protruding parts while supporting suitable surfaces. Tell us where the equipment can touch the foam and where contact is restricted.

  • Allow for bags and removal access

If equipment is sealed in a protective bag before packing, the pocket needs to allow for the bag as well as the part. Hand openings and separate accessory pockets help users remove equipment and return items to their places.

  • Choose materials for the job

We offer polyethylene (PE), polyurethane (PU) and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) in different densities and colors. All foam is cut using a CNC router or waterjet. The method is selected based on the foam type and pocket features. Anti-static foam options are available to meet any electrostatic discharge requirements.

Larger equipment

Plan support, loading and crating at your facility.

Large assemblies need supports that account for their weight and shape. We review where the load can rest, how it will be lifted and what access is available at each end of the journey.

  • Secure the load and provide access

Blocking, bracing and restraints can hold equipment at suitable support points. Removable walls, ramps and forklift access can be included where useful. Tell us how the equipment will enter the crate and be removed at its destination.

  • Account for moisture during shipping and storage

Waterproof barrier bagging and desiccant, which absorbs moisture, can be included when the equipment and journey call for it. We review the shipping conditions and storage period before choosing the packing materials.

  • Arrange on-site crating

When equipment is difficult to move, we can review crating it at your facility. We check the location, working space, access and packing work before arranging a visit.

Design and ordering

Review the design before we build.

Design assistance and quotes are free, with no requirement to purchase. Our in-house team prepares the packaging layout and works through changes with you.

  1. Provide the equipment details

Provide dimensions, drawings, 3D models or photos, plus the equipment and accessory list, weight, quantity and required date. Tell us how it will be shipped and whether the equipment design is still changing. Arrange approved transfer before sharing controlled information.

  2. Review the layout and quote

We recommend the case, foam or crate design and provide views for your review. Check fit, access, materials and what is included in the quote. We help determine whether a physical prototype is needed.

  3. Approve the design for production

After any required prototype review and your approval, we build the packaging and arrange delivery. We retain approved designs and production files for repeat orders.
